The New York City Writing Project's Annual Teacher-to-Teacher Conference

On April 2, 2016, please join the New York City Writing Project for their annual Teacher-to-Teacher Conference, featuring keynote speakers Kylene Beers and Marlon Peterson. Kylene Beers is an award-winning former middle school teacher and author of several best-selling books on how best to help struggling readers. Marlon Peterson is a national social and criminal justice advocate, writer, organizational trainer, community organizer, and educator. The New York City Writing Project's 2015 Invitational Summer Institute

We are looking forward to the NYC Writing Project's 2015 Invitational Summer Institute. The ISI is an intensive professional learning experience for teachers with three or more years in the classroom; accepted Fellows will be compensated for their time with either a $700 stipend or 6 tuition-waived graduate credits in English from Lehman College. The application window for the ISI has now closed; to be considered for next year’s ISI, please contact admin@nycwritingproject.org and ask to be placed on our mailing list. For more information about the Invitational Summer Institute, please visit the NYCWP program website.

The New York City Writing Project's 2015 Summer Open Institutes

Summer Opens consist of four full-day professional learning workshops for teachers of all grades and content areas.  They are specifically designed for new teachers, experienced teachers who are new to Writing Project work, and/or those who are interested in learning more about the NYCWP’s student-centered approaches to teaching literacy.
